Cueva del Tesoro
Avenida Picasso, 21 Urbanización El Cantal Alto, 29730 Rincon de la Victoria Spain
Rincón de la Victoria owns a unique place in Europe, Cueva del Tesoro. It is one of the only three marine caves known in the world. The other two are in Asia and Central America. For all the locals, visitors and tourists of Malaga it is a must see! The history, archeology and legend are united in Cueva del Tesoro, also known as Cueva del Higuerón. In its galleries were found remains of the Palaeolithic and the Bronze Age, as well as samples of Cave Art (Arte Rupestre). In a comfortable walk through its cavities, you can enjoy the curious forms that water has shaped over millennia. Perhaps, with a bit of luck, you will find the famous treasure that, it is said, still remains in the cave.

Cueva De La Victoria
Avenida de Picasso, 21 Urbanización El Cantal, 29730 Rincon de la Victoria Spain
A few metres from the Cueva del Tesoro (Treasure Cave) is the La Victoria cave, an area of high historical value, as for thousands of years it has been a place where ancient inhabitants have lived together and where different cultures have passed through. The Cueva de la Victoria was a busy burial site during the Neolithic period. Some 13.000 years ago, the silhouettes of several individuals were captured in one of its galleries. Each of them is positioned differently in front of the other, representing the living, as the remains of those who died were placed in the centre of that gallery. Before you take out your tickets, remember. It is an activity typified as Active Speleological Tourism. And, therefore, it is required to be over ten years old and under seventy, also not have any mobility problem, or claustrophobia, as well as doing the tour with mountain or trekking shoes. If you meet all the requirements, do not forget to wear very comfortable clothes.
